we're your dreamgirls, dreamgirls will never leave you ~

caught Dreamgirls the Musical at Istana Budaya last night -- won a pair of tix from Broadway Academy (who got the show together) when i went watch one of chongy's performances at their premises. the hubby reluctantly became my date when for one reason or another, friends kept turning the tix down. he enjoyed it somewhat (though i caught him with eyes closed at one point :D)

i went in with little expectation but wow, i came out suitably impressed.. and to be honest, i felt more entertained than i did with The Sound of Music (sigh, i know right?!) so yeah..

it was the preview night, and we got like one of the best seats in the house! w00t! i think it makes all the difference as well. and Istana Budaya definitely has a better set up than KL Convention Centre. i loved the props and costumes and almost seamless scene change and the choreography and direction. the singers were good too (chongy said there were some pitching probs -- but it escaped my untrained ears so it's okay hehe) so it's all good and yay and double yay!! :)

if i had a gripe, it was the sound -- the men mostly sounded muffled, though the ladies had it better. i hope they fix it before the big day. :) other than that: GO WATCH IT!! :) SUPPORT LOCAL PROD!! YAY!! k, 'nuff w the gushing, bai.
