i think i've watched more movies this year than in the past 5 years combined. hahaha.. just a quick 2-sen's worth on the ones i've seen the past 2 weeks alone.
i was rather disappointed with this i must say. i loved the psychedelic colours and the quirky characters, but the storyline was rather weak. i wish tim burton had just stuck to the original instead of giving us this. plus, i didn't quite like this alice. hehe.. call me superficial, but i didn't think she was attractive, nor did i like her acting. :P someone suggested that tim burton's choices of female leads have never been the conventional beauty type. true dat.
up in the air
did i like it? mmhmm. i might have, a little. clooney's ryan bringham was good on his own, even up to his flirting and hook-up with vera farmiga's alex goran. but after that it was kinda bleh. anna kendrick was good here as the bright-eyed overachieving new blood who got a rude shock about the reality of their business (they call themselves 'transition counsellors', people hired by bosses who are too chicken to lay off their staff. i wonder if this is a real job.) so, did i like it? again, just a little.
kick-ass
i normally would pass up on a movie i know is littered with profanity (no sam l. jackson movies for me!) but i succumbed to the gushing reviews i read.. and realised after the movie that most of the reviewers must have been guys. it was such a dude movie. i didn't quite like it.. i like the premise of the show, but.. mm, i don't know. hit girl (the purple one in the poster) on the other hand was awwwesome haha (though i'd to work triply hard to filter out her curse-a-min dialogue.. man, can she swear! i was kinda torn abt her charac - but i hope they make a spin off of her character. hehe..)
the blind side
yaaaawn. this was so boring i couldn't finish it. can't believe sandra bullock won the oscars for this. i like her lots, but this? i'd sooner give her the statue for ms congeniality. there's something just so "off" about this movie. maybe it's her too perfect a family. could be the dialogue too. the editing? whatever la, i just don't like this. sorry, sandy.
shutter island
this was the best of whole lot! a good page-turner of a movie. glad i didn't read any reviews prior to watching.. cos for some reason, overtly zealous scorcese fans were dissing this movie, saying it wasn't his best blah blah.. hello, it was so good i will watch it again. we shall take a moment here to appreciate the gravity of what i've just said, because there isn't a single movie that isn't funny or isn't an animation that has make me to want to re-watch (as far as my mind can search la, but we all know how limited that search function is haha), so yeah this movie is that good! although i kinda wrote off leo dicaprio after titanic, he's proven to be very watchable since. there were some points that were a little draggy, but overall, a gripping thriller i really like. :)
how to train your dragon
so cute! someone told me that the animators were the same as those who worked on lilo & stitch (seen in the similar mischievous behavior of both creatures), but i didn't like L&S. gosh, i wish i'd a Night Terror for a pet! hehe.. can fly to work everyday. haha..alice in wonderland

check these out:
pieces 1, 2 & 5 from cat's whiskers @70% off
pieces 3 & 4 from oopsie daisies @50% off
that's three dresses and two blouses.. for RM120. isn't that like crazy awwwwesome?! got a pair of earrings and a chain for another 14 bucks.. the was surreal! i've never bought so many pieces at one go before.. i am delirious with delight! i picked up that fuchsia piece first, reminding myself NOT to always steer towards black pieces. but after i filled my non-black quota of 1, my desire to buy black came back with a revenge and i made it up with 4 pieces. oh yeah! hahaha.. i must have been a goth in the past life. :D and all these happened in bangsar last evening with the gals L&J.
hehe.. speaking of awesome, i think we spent a HUGE chunk of time going thru practically every episode of how i met your mother that we rbered. and we rbered a lot. oh rber when marshall said this, and robin did that, and how ted reacted, and when lily left, and barney, barnacle, barney, and the goat, pineapple, blah blah, dinosaur building, stella, britney spears, breakup, makeup, wedding, gay brother.. i was totally stoked! hahaha.. best sitcom ever, in my book ;) we grudgingly agreed that it has to end though - better to go out in glory than dragging on forever in filler limbo, doncha think? HIMYM marathon, anyone?! :D

R.AGE ran a twitter contest yesterday, giving out passes to watch Tokio Hotel live in Msia. and i won myself a pair!! :D i think this is the first time i've won anything esp at 1st try. hehe.. ^.^ erm, one kink though -- the ONLY thing i know about Tokio Hotel is its androgynous front man, Bill Kaulitz, and that's cos he is often parodied in some site i follow. hahaha.. and now because of the contest, i also know that they are a German pop rock band founded in magdeburg, germany, and that the line "wir müssen jetzt durch diese wand" is from their song called ubers ende der welt (over the end of the world). urm, ok. hahaha.. i would exchange the passes for a meal of pork schnitzels and bratwurst sausages (hold the sauerkraut please), but failing an offer i'd go to watch them ler. :D
isn't he pretty? and the hair! the hair..
i would very much in this lifetime like to see some of my fav acts in action: relient k, mae and the david crowder band.. and possibly owl city. :D [yes, in this order] and switchfoot again but i think the odds are mocking me. le sigh. speaking of mae, i found this youtube clip - so cute, so sad.. love the song!

on the box:
- simply delicious muesli? BLUEK.
- 620g of unadulterated breakfast pleasure? LIAR.
but my 65kg frame - which is abt 5kg heavier than my average weight and 10kg north of my ideal weight - is a real eyesore. i'm wearing skirts almost everyday cos most of my pants won't fit anymore (the ones which were reeeeally loose at one point are now snug).
well, i am already cutting down my rice intake, staying away from fried stuff, and eating more vege for lunch and dinner. but does anyone have any sugg for a healthy bfast that won't make me hate myself every morn? :D
gosh, i miss nasi lemak so much. T___T

some say that the english language lacks stylistic flourish and accuracy; its rules confusing and inconsistent; imperfect.
but 'sokay.
but 'sokay.
had I the heavens' embroidered cloths
enwrought with gold and silver light
the blue and the dim and the dark cloths
of night and light and the half light
I would spread the cloths under your feet
but I, being poor, have only my dreams
I have spread my dreams under your feet
tread softly, because you tread on my dreams
he wishes for the cloth of heaven

after the severe guilt-inducing KFC i'd for lunch on monday, i was determined to go on a salad diet - and i did, for the past three days! :) and seriously, i think that it's the most awesome wholesome yummiest lunch i've had. ^_^
what's in it you ask? sugar and spice and everything nice i'd say, and these of course..
- salad mix (pack comes with balsamic vinegar dressing - methinks it's a better alternative to the creamy based dressings which i don't favor anyways. and this mix has rocket leaves which i totally love! and it is pre-washed too so it saved me a whole lotta time. a bit exp thou'.) - RM9
- black grapes oh so sweet. love the contrasting flavor it adds to the bowl and i'm beginning to sound like i should have my own cook show haha. just a handful of these lovelies would do. - RM2.8
- feta cheese 'em mini indulgence hehe! love that tangy flavor :P i suppose i could do without, but why?! lol! - RM8
- quartered roast chicken sorry, just gotta have meat! rawr! - RM4
- cherry tomatoes - FREE! fresh from cameron highlands - thanks to my coll Peggy who saw my salad and asked if i'd wanted the whole bag that she has.. her hometown-mate got her a truckload of these i suppose so she was giving some away hehe.. great timing no? ;)
total - RM23.80 but there is enough for 3 portions so that's RM7.40 per bowl of goodness. a bit pricey but ok whattt -- just gotta dole out that extra bit for awesomeness. hehe.. the blurry pic just dun do it justice!
so yeah i love love love it! :D

took this in ulu baram, where our camp site was. it was a scorching day and i was walking back to my aircond room after lunch. i don't know what made me look up cos the sun was merciless that day, and i was walking with my eyes closed to cut off the glare. glad i did then. :)
i love capturing the skies. and every time i did, my mind would take a snapshot of the moment. but that moment held nothing much for me, but this. and that's good enough i say. :)

the post with not one, not two, not three, not five, not six, not seven, but FOUR youtube vids! whee!
on the easter weekend
i had a good friday. lol. sent out a chat meme asking what was everyone's thought about easter. got interesting answers ranging from "been busy - never really thought abt it" to some pretty lengthy discourses. mine? when i can get down to writing it, i'll post it up on the other blog k. ;)
was went to church for prayer meeting - enjoyed the sharing and praying together. it was a quiet, contemplative evening as i had expected, so i was glad!
Sat was a full day for me - was up by 545am - was invigilating an exam over at UM so i had to get to IBBM office by 7. when that --
-- was over, made my team pack in record time (without missing out on anything of course ;) so that we could hurry back to the office to deliver the exam material. barely had time to catch up with my ex-colls as i had to rush back to church for performance practice --
-- and music practice. it was combined service for easter, so i had to lead bilingually. but i can't. hahaha... thank God for singers who could! :) i really enjoyed practice - i think jive is quite an awesome drummer. hehe.. both the soo bros have very good work ethics. good job, auntie susin! :P
where was i. um. nvm. we'd a guest speaker - ps kevin gan - cos my pastor was not feeling well. for the life of me, i don't rber what he preached about. haha.. he was expounding on the story of the prodigal son, how the church is like the older brother. "all that i have is yours"
after service we'd lunch at church, mingled around a little bit. but still not enough. there was this guy whom i've not spoken to despite him having been in our church for what, 2 years? bee said she'd intro us, but i was suddenly reluctant. sigh. told her next time la. it's so weird kan. well, he's the rest of the YAs to talk to, so it was OK la.
after service, i was heading home when g_ww texted to ask if i wanna study. NO-I WANT TO SLEEP! but i did. haha.. we hung out at the lovely Societea, a cosy tea place, with her reading for CFA and me for my nite class exam. i was a little dizzy earlier but it soon developed into a splitting headache the size of the grand canyon. when i got home, i was so close to tears but i couldn't cry cos i was too tired. wah - srsly thought i would die from that. but i woke up this morn -- after an superb 12 hour sleep -- still on earth and headache gone. whee! ;)
bloooooo skyes
i love this new vid by owl city. i wouldn't be surprised if skies somewhere are actually like that. this is silly but i could cry if i stood under one of those. ;)
owl city :: vanilla twilight
copeland
they is coming to kayell. i wonder if i should go, since i will be missing out on West Side Story anyways on account of cost. :( booohooo.. it's definitely a cheaper form of entertainment plus i haven't been to a concert since '08.. but i only know a couple of their songs. tak syiok oso. see how la. :)
zune
i've asked a friend who went back to US to help me send my zune to the service centre and see if it was fixable. but my zune never made it louisiana - someone stole it from his luggage during an interstate flight. UNITED AIRLINES - you suck! but we know that already.
check out this is a vid made by a Canadian band who had a terrible experience flying united airlines - the airline workers broke their $3.5k guitar and the airline refused to compensate so they made this vid to get its attention - and it worked! (read the story here) maybe i should do the same.. konon-nya. :P

on being overtly opinionated
there are just some people who because they think they are right, also think that they MUST shove down their opinions down others' throats. everyone is entitled to their opinion fine, but why do you have to remove all doubts that you are an intelligent life form incapable of even the basic level of intra-species communication when you open your mouth? and when i mimic you, please, it wasn't meant to flatter. i just want to point out how ridiculously obnoxious you are. pfffbt!
mm i'm ranty today. wad's going on?
*BREATHES*
anyways, here' stg awesome to end the post. i don't care much for the song, but the 4-min rube goldberg contraption is just awesome. someone asked if OK Go are a bunch of geeks who happen to be rock stars or are they rock stars who moonlight as geeks. hehe.. 'tis just amayyyzing!
ok go :: this too shall pass

which included a crazy morning as candidates left the first session by the swarms and a misconduct case - sigh -- why does it always happen on my watch!

did this song with boy weiwen and it was very well received! ^^ *pats selves on back* we had only 2 practice sessions prior due to our tight schedules, but because we are big RK fans, they went smooth ler. happyness! not that i was looking for approval ahem, but the many "well done! we love the song!" that we got aft the service made it very worthwhile. girl weiwern (see why the gender distinction has to be made? :) thought that we sounded very well together. this was the 2nd time i sang with him, after christmas' how many kings performance - works out to be a charm. i wish ppl are more like u, b_ww!
