somewhat sille, that's me!

despite the rumours, i somehow have never believed that lee hom is gay, because i don't have any reasons to buy into them. so when he publicly locked lips with the venerable jackie chan (reports here, here and here), i... i... just don't get it. why can't they just high five? or bear hug? (oh, they did that.) or just go with the timeless handshake? i know they are super close buddies from their Little Big Soldier 大兵小將 days, and they tend to sing praises about each other in interviews, but this... is... what? why?

anyway, i googled for 'why do heterosexual men kiss' and there are actually articles about it (read this and this). one of the article says that: 'Heterosexual men kissing each other in friendship is an offshoot of what happens when homophobia is reduced. erm okayy. i'm somewhat assuaged, but still i find this unorthodox approach to greeting a friend (of any gender) rather erm.. peculiar. maybe i'm not as liberal as i think i am hahaha..
