i saw snow for the first time! the Yongs, our gracious hosts in Melbourne, took us on a day trip up to Lake Mountain on our second day there. as it was something we had not planned, it was a nice surprise. it was really cold (erm, what did i expect?) so i was thankful that i was sufficiently insulated. i can't say i wasn't a wee bit disappointed not being able to see the hexagonal wonder that is the snowflake but there was no fresh snow. some other time maybe.
we were in Melb at the end of winter and crossed over to spring just before we came back, although temperature-wise, it remained pretty chilly.. which i just love, love, love!
perhaps it's the novelty of it all, perhaps there was something in the air, but just being there makes me so very happy, a feeling which i proceeded to declare for the rest of the trip.. and continued to after i got back. hehe..
