moving on, when i first heard this song, i was like whoa, listen to him hitting those notes! like i've said, i heart falsettos.. and singing the chorus along with him just makes me giggle! at first i didn't really have any idea what he was singing about, other than adamantly proclaiming that he has absolutely no reason to bother about someone. yeah, that's the title of the song: I Have Absolutely No Reason To Pay You Any Attention 我完全沒有任何理由理你.. until i checked out the music video.. which i absolutely adore! it's the most fun i've seen him had in recent music videos and he does silliness very well (cf. his role in Love in Disguise, the movie, which i am still considering if i should do a so-called review on).
i wonder if anyone might find a 32 year old man (the age he was when the song came out) in baby blue teddy jammy throwing some tantrum disturbing. you know what, I SAY he could still do it now at 36 and it is STILL acceptable. because i am THIRTY friggin' FOUR this year and if I want to pull off being cute and crazy, I CAN, because I'm still young! at heart! it counts! IT COUNTS.

back to the song, it appears to be highly autobiographical. the first verse highlights the difference between the perception/expectations/obsession vs the reality of a celebrity life; and whoever it was he was singing about in the second verse, the person must have had pissed him off royally. i don't fancy or condone that he used the word b*tch, but I myself have been so mad at someone *coughexbosscough* that i too have used the very term, so I'd feel like a hypocrite if I were to call him out on it..
i had a lot of fun translating this.. if you actually bother reading my translations (i certainly won't fault anyone for not doing it), do also watch the video, the words will make more sense then. i hope you would like this as it has just become my new favourite song! :)
